panel88 artists bring it to C2E2
To those fortune souls out there who’ll make it to the new C2E2 con in Chicago, be sure to drop by artist’s alley and meet the hard-working, ever-loving, multi-talented artists that have lent their skills to some of our projects. L.E.A.S.H. and Dissension artist Jordan Gunderson will be at table G12, showcasing some of his latest work on Cry Wolf, Daughter of Sin and all the goodies he’s been working on with panel88 along with much more. Soulless artist Eric Jimenez can be found at table E5 with his sure-to-please smorgasbord of illustrated goodness.
Be sure to follow us on twitter for regular updates on what’s happening on and off the show floor.
A Starfish is born
panel88 affiliated artist Miguel Sanchez (AWOL) has been laboring on the love that is Starfish as long as I’ve known him, and I couldn’t be happier to see that he’s put the final touches on the first issue. Miguel handled all the heavy lifting on this one and he’s really brought his inking and coloring skills up to match his solid writing and art.
As for the story, it’s all about a girl and her jet pack. What more do ya need? He’s offering up samples of the finished book over at The Starfish Lighthouse. If you’re a fan of what you see, prove it on facebook.
X-Men a la Jimenez
Soulless artist and inkmeister Eric Jimenez has been churning out some sweet sequential goodies at the behest of C.B. Cebulski. You can sample a tasty spread here or just head over to Eric’s main internet home for the whole package. Gotta love the detail and effort Eric drops into each panel. One of the main reasons panel88 wanted to get him on board with a project as soon as possible. Go and see for yourself. Sure to please.
New Dissension cover art
Just received an amazing bit of cover art for the Dissension project we’re working on with artist Jordan Gunderson.
Colors provided by Kieran Oats. Can’t tell you how excited we are to get this book rolling. More to come…
Artist Q&A with Eric Jimenez
Soulless artist Eric Jimenez let’s us pick his brain a bit about his career, panel88 projects and why comics are where it’s at.
Artist Q&A with Jordan Gunderson
We cornered Dissension and L.E.A.S.H. artist Jordan Gunderson at the Chicago Comic-Con and got inside his head for a few to find out about his work, past and present, and comics are where he wants to be.
Chicago Comic-Con pics
Just a couple shots I grabbed between rounds of either sweating my ass off or pitching our latest projects at the Chicago Comic-Con.
panel88 artists at Wizard World Chicago Comic-Con
panel88 affiliated artists Jordan Gunderson and Eric Jimenez will be setting up shop in Artist Alley at the 2009 Wizard World Chicago Comic-Con. You can find Jordan at table 3600-3604 where he’ll be selling original sequential artwork and some unbelievable new prints, including some art from our upcoming project Dissension.
Eric and his team of merry artist pranksters have taken over the entire 4100 aisle of Artist Alley. You can find Eric at table 4104 where he’ll be happy to give you a sneak peak at our latest project Soulless.
Eric will also be selling copies of his latest labor of love, Temporal. If you just can’t wait until then, swing over to his blog to grab yours now. Either way, get your copy over to Eric at the Con so he can sign it (and perhaps get yourself some original art prints, too).
Jordan Gunderson cries wolf
panel88 affiliated artist Jordan Gunderson (Grimm Fairy Tales, Warhammer) is now hard at work illustrating the first volume of #1 New York Times bestselling author Patricia Briggs’ Alpha and Omega: Cry Wolf from Dabel Brothers Publishing. The full story’s here (scroll down to get a look at the full cover from Jordan).
The first volume’s expected to hit stands in August, so be sure to keep a little cash on hand to drop on this one. Jordan’s work keeps getting better by the panel and no doubt this’ll be his best work to date.
Temporal from Eric Jimenez now available
Long before beginning work on the Soulless project with panel88, Eric was diligently working away on what is sure to be first of many dazzling, original works from the Chicago artist: Temporal. The blood, sweat and ink have finally dried and Temporal is now available for purchase at Eric’s blog. Here’s your chance to get in on the ground level of the beginning of the rapidly growing career of one of the best new artists and storytellers in the world of graphic fiction.
Now, get over to Eric’s site and show him a little fiscal love.
