The panel88 staff is a diverse and growing group of creators and artists bringing years of experience to the table. Most importantly, they are a team similarly focused on creating the concepts, scripts and art that fuel tomorrow’s comics engines.

Born on a mountain top (literally) and raised in the unbearable flatness of the Midwest, Christopher’s fascination with comic books reaches back as far as the first grade and his ever-present Wolverine Secret Wars action figure. Since that time, page after page and year after year of reveling in mutants and capes and cowls have cultivated into a marriage of Christopher’s two real passions: comics and writing. With years of professional and personal writing experience ranging from poetry to magazine articles under his belt, Christopher has turned his full writing attention to developing original comics works. Though the list of Christopher’s published works may be in its larval stage, the amount of completed concepts and polished scripts he has produced are taxing the storage limits of his hard drive even as you read this.

Miguel Angel S.
Collaberating Artist for AWOL

Smuggled into this country within the womb of his immigrant mommy, Miguel Angel S. exclaimed, “This is where I get off…” once having reached the steps of Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. From there, at the age of five, he began drawing stick figures with capes onto a portable chalkboard one panel at a time and proudly vowed to his family that one day he would become an artist. Proving his parents right that there is no money in that sort of thing, Miguel would nevertheless continue to tirelessly pursue his lifelong dream of vicariously leaping off tall buildings in a single sketch.

Jordan Gunderson

Born and raised in South Central Wisconsin, Jordan learned the craft of the pencil at a young age. His early years were spent filling the pages of his school notebooks with incoherent sketches and doodles. Upon entering High School, Jordan’s destiny was laid out neatly before him. His task, to take every art course offered in the school’s curriculum. After graduation, with the school’s Art Achievement Award in hand, the future seemed uncertain. Decisions were weighed and a college art degree won out over the comic book artist. But halfway through the program, the comic book artist reared its beautifully shadowed and cross-hatched head. The realization was there in an instant, why choose one when you can have both. So with a BFA in Multimedia Design under his belt, Jordan set out to get a job within his major and become a comic book artist. High hopes? Maybe. Crazy? Oh hell yes!

Eric Jimenez

Eric Jimenez is attempting to profit from his misspent youth. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Jimenez has been drawing since before he could read. Once he deciphered the mysteries of reading, though, Eric could not be separated from his comics. Comic books became his muse, and there was no turning back. Jimenez graduated from DePaul University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Art and is still chipping away at his dreams, as well as getting the rocket in his backyard to finally fly.

From the pages of her childhood coloring book to the pages of mainstream comics, Rachelle has always had a unique love of making art come alive. Though new to the industry, she’s taken her BFA in illustration and a formal oil painting background to quickly become an in-demand force in the world of coloring. However be forewarned, viewing her colors may make you think you accidently ingested brain destroying narcotics. A San Diego native, some of her recent works include Jersey Gods, HACK/SLASH: Entry Wound, and LumberJACK.

Raised on a healthy dose of GI Joe, Voltron, and Thudercats, and coupled with a smattering of natural artistic abilities, Zach helps come up with concepts and assist in the development process. With a successful freelance career as a web designer/developer he hopes to help push the realm of comics into their next incarnation.

Tereza Fielder

A bit of Greek passion and American determination have produced a formidable (and delectable) combination in Tereza. A full-time graphic and web designer, parlaying her talents into the world of comics has come as natural as, well, using ten-cent words like parlay. She helps keep the creative pipeline flowing and brings an uncanny knowledge of all things design and print related to the panel88 mix.
